James Franklin Out at Penn State

By Rob Reinhart

James Franklin has been fired from his head coaching position, sources tell the Reinhart Report.

The Nittany Lions have started the 2025 season ice cold, with their latest stumble being a loss to Northwestern.

Despite Franklin’s historical ability to lead teams to the CFP, this latest collapse has proven costly to the program’s image and reputation.

Penn State owes Franklin upwards of $50 million in a contract buyout due to his premature termination.
